A lot of people use email accounts because it's a faster and more convenient way of communicating compared to normal letters or postcards. The problem with most email services is that the web interface which they provide lacks a lot of features and it's difficult to use for most people. On the other hand, there are some email services which don't offer a web-based interface and, as such, it's important to install an email client in order to access your messages.

One email client which offers a good balance between simpleness and functionality is GcMail. This email client allows you to connect to almost any email service available and send and receive messages with ease, in a more intuitive way than using a web interface.

After the application is installed, the user will first need to access the Settings window and configure the desired email accounts. For this, he will just need to enter the email address and password and GcMail will automatically discover the email server and port. But there are situations in which the user will need to input this information manually.

After the email accounts have been configured, one will just need to click on the "Receive email" button in order to download all the messages from his email account, including media elements and attachments. The user can easily create and send emails, as he has numerous writing tools available at his fingertips. The tabbed interface makes it simple to switch between several emails or between a sent or received email.

Besides sending and receiving emails, GcMail also allows you to configure contact lists and even organize meetings and tasks using a calendar feature. Still, the calendar is only available in the full version.

Pros

It allows you to easily configure a new email account, just by typing the email address and password. Besides that, several email accounts can be configured in the same interface, Furthermore, the user can create contact lists and plan tasks and meetings using a calendar feature.

Cons

The calendar feature and the possibility of adding multiple email accounts are not included in the free version, but only in the full one. GcMail allows you to easily send and receive emails, by using an intuitive and graphical interface.
